The SuccessWebsite® Pay Per Click System

Controlling Costs and Managing Your Budget

Whether you have $100 or $1,000 per month to spend on your online advertising, Google AdWords allows for tight management of your spending. You can establish a daily or weekly budget for each ad campaign to temporarily turn your ads off when you reach your maximum amount. A typical daily budget for a campaign is $20, and there are many options to help advertisers control their spend amount.

Is there an Account Activation Fee?

Yes. Google charges a one-time AdWords activation fee upon account creation to ensure that advertisers are committed to creating well-targeted advertisements. The fee also helps cover the costs associated with creating, maintaining and, if applicable, canceling an account. This activation fee is non-refundable, even if an account is only open for a short time.

How much do I pay for a click on my ad? What if my ad is the only one showing?

You'll never pay more for clicks than the bid you’ve placed on the matched keywords. In fact, you’ll often pay less than your bid as a result of Google’s quality-based pricing system, which uses a number of different factors, including how many ads appear, to set your actual Cost-per-Click.

Where do I setup my Maximum Cost-per-Click (CPC)?

This is set at the Campaign level. A typical maximum CPC is $1.00. You do have the ability to edit your bid for individual keywords, which is usually necessary if you want to ensure a high-level placement for a specific keyword. Google may also recommend that you increase your CPC if your ads are not showing on the first or second page of search results.

Where do I setup my Daily Budget?

This is also set at the Campaign level, within the Settings tab. You can specify preferences for the delivery of your ads, including choosing a preferred position within results (e.g. show your ad 3rd or 4th instead of 1st). You can also choose whether to have all your ads delivered evenly, or give priority to your more popular ads (the ones generating the most clicks).
