ChatGPT (or a similar AI content generation system) is a must-have tool for any real estate agent looking to improve their workflow and stay ahead of the competition.
If you’re new to this topic, here’s a non-technical overview of AI and ChatGPT for realtors. When you’re up to speed, you should then read about what AI and ChatGPT can do for your real estate business.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a computer program that can write text like a human. It does this by using AI technology to understand what you want it to write about, and then generating text based on that information.
For example, you could enter a prompt like “Write a blog article explaining why now is a good time to buy a home” and it will create that article within a few seconds!
What’s really exciting is that ChatGPT remembers your prompts and lets you refine the output through further interaction. For example, you could tell it to rewrite the blog article, focusing more on a specific topic, generating more talking points, and/or changing its tone.
Depending on how it’s connected to your business systems, ChatGPT could also answer common lead or client questions, recommend properties based on a list of criteria, and more. Before long, real estate chatbots will provide quick and efficient service to clients, freeing up your time to focus on other tasks and grow your business.
How does ChatGPT work?
ChatGPT is based on a larger AI system called GPT-3, which has been trained on millions of pages of text, such as books and web articles. When you enter a prompt, ChatGPT uses this training to understand what you want it to write about and generates text based on that information.
ChatGPT doesn’t actually know how to write the way humans do. Using info from your prompts and its own understanding of how language is put together, it makes lightning-fast predictions about what the next word in a sentence should be. This process generates remarkably human-like text on virtually any topic you give it!
Keep in mind
ChatGPT is a great tool, but it’s not perfect. Without help, it can’t create emotionally powerful content. It may not know current news or facts, and its output is sometimes inaccurate. It’s always a good idea to fact-check any text generated by ChatGPT before using it for your business. (Read more about the pitfalls of AI and ChatGPT and how to avoid them.)
However, ChatGPT is excellent for producing first drafts in seconds. It can also review existing copy and suggest edits to improve the quality. AI won’t replace a copywriting expert completely, but it can definitely help with most of the routine content writing necessary for real estate.
Of course, all this assumes you know how to help ChatGPT do its work. The more specific and detailed prompts you give it, the better its output. And that’s what you’ll learn in this series of articles!
